AZA Launches in Uganda with Aim to Ease Inter-Africa Trade

After securing the first-ever remittance license from the Bank of Uganda in November last year we officially launched our brand in Uganda with a kick-off event on February 20th at the Kampala Serena Hotel.

We took the opportunity to get together with industry professionals to discuss their cross-border needs as well as officially introduce our products in the Ugandan market.

Our Head of East and Southern Africa Sales, Thomas Yieke, took the stage to give the audience an overview of how AZA, can help Ugandan businesses grow past their borders by lowering the cost and increasing the speed of international payments.

We also seized this opportunity to do a live demonstration of the brand-new version of our flagship product, BFX, and show customers first-hand the ease with which they can make international payments using our platform.

Our highlight of the event was interacting with existing and potential customers on their cross-border needs as well as understanding the challenges they are facing within the space right now such as long transaction times and FX losses. We were able to gather very valuable feedback about our new platform, as well as onboard newcomers who couldn’t wait to sign up and dive into the world of simplified cross-border payments.

One such lucky customer was Galiwango David who not only got early access to the new platform but also won a dinner for two at the Kampala Serena Hotel for being one of our first customers to sign up on our new platform. As you can see, Galiwango was bursting with excitement by this double victory and we were even more excited to celebrate with him.

Thank you to everyone who attended the event and contributed to its success. We look forward to partnering with you and hosting you again!
