Kenyan blockchain payments company BitPesa has acquired Spanish fintech startup TransferZero, enhancing its capabilities in Europe and Africa. TransferZero, based in Madrid and partnered with Spain’s Bankia, will continue operating under its brand, with CEO Luis Cambronero becoming a managing director at BitPesa. The acquisition aims to expand their presence in the UK and European markets. BitPesa’s CEO, Elizabeth Rossiello, highlighted the increasing acceptance of digital currencies and blockchain technology in financial services, supported by favorable regulatory changes in Europe.
